Fatal Trempeauleau County Fire

The victim of a fatal fire in Trempealeau County is identified as a 73-year-old man.

Trempealeau's police chief says rescue crews were unable to revive Walter Hanson after he was found in the basement of his home early Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female was able to escape the home without injury. But, two firefighters suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
