The Barron County Sheriff's Department identified the ATV rider who died Thursday near Barron.
Officers say 30-year-old Sham Leisz was going west on 10 1/2 Avenue when the ATV was on hit a deer.
The ATV rolled several times.
Leisz died at the scene.
Friday's story:
One person is dead after an ATV vs. deer crash in Barron County.
It happened at about 9:30 Thursday night near Turtle Lake on 10 1/2 avenues, one mile west of the Twin Town Store.
Deputies say the driver hit a deer that was crossing the road, causing the ATV to roll multiple times.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head trauma; deputies say that person was not wearing a helmet.
