Library Board Decides to End Relationship with Director

The Eau Claire Library Board met in closed session Wednesday night and decided it wants a new library director.

According to Board President Mary Jurmain, the board has been working with Michael Golrick on his performance expectations, but they haven't been successful in reaching agreement. She says the board will now meet with the city to draft a separation agreement.

She says the decision to terminate employment does not reflect any misconduct or fraud, but that it was just a "bad fit."

The search for a new director is on hold for the time being, there's no word on when Golrick's last day will be.
