Stabbing Suspects in Court

Three men arrested in connection with a stabbing in Independence last month pleaded not guilty Tuesday.

The three men are charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

Investigators say on April 20, the police chief saw people running from the El Ranchero restaurant and bar.

He says he saw a man getting up from the ground covered in blood with cuts on his back and left arm.

The victim told police seven or eight men tried to hit him with a chair and a 2x4, threw bottles at him and cut him with a knife.

The men will be back in court on June 18.
