New 911 System For Eau Claire

The city of Eau Claire is upgrading it's 911 center with a new $106,000 phone system.

On Tuesday night, the Eau Claire City Council approved buying the system to replace one from 1992.

It was last updated in 2000 and the manufacturer stopped making the system last year.

The new system comes with a fifth seat for both 911 calls and radio communication.

The city says a grant will cover the cost.
