A supervisor at a Random Lake day care has been charged with a felony and four misdemeanors for her alleged role in the assault of a baby a year ago.
The complaint says 49-year-old Mary K. Benz managed the Our Lady of the Lakes Child Care Center, where the then-10-month old girl was cared for June 26th.
Officials say the infant had significant tearing injuries to her vaginal area that required surgery.
Benz was charged with felony physical abuse of a child and three counts of obstructing an officer and failure to report child abuse or neglect.
The complaint gives no explanation or evidence of how the girl suffered the injuries, but it alleges Benz asked three employees to lie for her and forged several documents.
Benz is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Tuesday.
