The DNR says wolves killed two calves in Trempealeau County last month

According to Ed Culhane with the DNR, one death happened on May 23 near Osseo, the other happened on May 24 near Ettrick and Galesville. He believes the attacks are unrelated

Culhane says the owners of the calves have been issued shooting permits to kill the wolves because wildlife services is unavailable to come out and trap them.

He says he's not aware of any wolf packs. Wolves are not common in that area.

I also thought that the DNR is responsible for wildlife management. Like anything else, there is good and bad. This is bad. This is how lazy wildlife "managers" take the easy way out, kill.

Tha man says there are no wolves in the area so why is he issuing a kill permit, why isn't the DNR out there investigating this, and instead of killing the wolf why are they not trapping it instead. I thought it was the job of the DNR to investigate these things, if not, then get replace them, they aren't doing a very good job anyways.
