Sandy, if you did read my comment from yesterday, you would open your mind up to what my opinion was on the issue. I take it as you are saying, people need to carry a gun/weapon to protect themselves against sex offenders. Is the issue about just sex offenders? Try thinking there are alot of people out there commiting other crimes, and I don't hear to much about protecting yourself about those crimes. In my personal opinion you are condemning just the sex offenders. LOOK UP THE STATISTIC'S on all crimes. You would be totally amazed!!! Please try not to condemn someone one before you know the whole story!!! That includes all crimes. I am sure everyone in this world had skeltons in there closet, it just is not put in the public's eyes!!
If people would realize they only read what the media prints. Do you know ALL the facts? I highly doubt it. Don't condemn someone until you know everything that was part of this man's life. Try putting yourself in someone's else'shoes. Sure does change, doesn't it? Media does change people's lives to make the news. People can change!!! As they say people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Try looking in the mirror about your own past!! Try looking about the statistics on a sex offender compared to a burglary. Who will offend again? Look up the facts before you shoot your mouth off. Do you people every think the man has changed? Apparently he has since he has no convictions since he has lived in our city. Try giving the person a chance before condemning him. I know for a fact people do change, I have worked with many felonies/criminals and they do change. Just trying looking at it if it was you in this man's shoes. Would you like to be condemned all your life???
I agree they should not be around kids but there are no neighborhoods in the city that don't have any kids so we just need to teach our kids how to be safe when playing outside away from parental supervision.
Why are all the sex offenders moved into locations where there are small children and young women around. These locations are always in less affluent locations. It would be nice for a change to see the sex offender moved into a location where there is well to do people. Then see how long the sex offender is there. The sex offender would be out of that location within the day of moving in. We will just have to start carrying a weapon, whether it be a gun or knife, there are some of us who will use it.
Lori, this guy is more concerned about attacking you then your kids.
I have 3 kids and I am in the same neighborhood as this sex offender. Why don't they move him to another location where there is no kids. They need to have more police patrolling when they move him in. This needs to be stopped because we are not safe with him around even with the electric monitoring and GPS. This is totally ridiculus.
This offender can still commit a sexual crime with electrical monitoring and a GPS. I just read an article in the newspaper about a 78 year old woman attacked by a sex offender with the same "monitoring equipment". Thus, monitoring does not prevent the sex offender from repeating his crime. So, how can anyone really safe?
