since jan 1 2006, the canadian national railway had 12 incidends of theft of $56,000 in the counties of chippewa, rusk, polk washburn, douglas and in the minnesota county of st louis. polk county railroads were earmarked for abandonment in the late 1970s and the early 1980s, so after 25 years they are claiming theft, and do they (canadian national railway) own any property in polk co. the railroad beds are trails now, what are they stealing?, is it insurance fraud? maybe that should be put under investiation, insurance fraud is a crime too

The way I look at all of the stealing, is it pry will not get any better, even a working man can not get ahead any more. Our goverment isn't working for familys, or this would not be happening so much. Maybe these guys that are doing the stealing is just cleaning up, look around at some of these places, junk all over, these guys are doing them a favor cleaning up there junk.

Judges don't sign search warrants without the police having evidence-the fact that these five locations were served with warrants indicate that evidence existed, and all 5 probably committed wrongdoing during the lengthy undercover investigation. One only has to look at the volume of business transacted by the larger of these facilities, and it becomes evident that what comes in today is processed and shipped out within the next couple of days, making tracking of this stuff difficult.

I work at one these places and had to witness this trama today my opinion is that i think the eau clair police department should had more evedance before they disided to point the finger at all the scrap yards. It wasnt fair to the honest scrap yards that do do there job right and are helping out the community by buying there property up front like they do to help get money in peoples pockets for food, higher gas prices, summer activities ect. An issue like this is bad for buisness but i do hope they find who stole the stuff and find the yard that bought it.
