The Minnesota DOT is now reviewing options for people who need to travel over the bridge.
Transit options being identified include setting up park & ride locations in Minnesota, from Wabasha to La Crescent, and in Wisconsin, from Trempealeau to Arcadia.
Busing is being planned from Wabasha to Winona and, for commuters in Wisconsin, from Onalaska to Winona.
Also, a ferry may be available to transport people across the Mississippi river near Winona.
Plans are expected to be in place by Monday, June 9.
Emergency vehicles are being allowed to cross the bridge to keep people safe.
