Police busted what they call a sophisticated marijuana growing operation Thursday in Viroqua and seized an estimated $166,000 in plants.
Officers executed a search warrant at around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Police Chief Mark Rahr said the department got a tip about a marijuana grow at 312 Minschall Avenue. Police say they found more than 150 plants with lights and timers in the basement. They say the plants are high grade and yield about a pound of pot each. Police arrested 46-year-old Kraig Hanson who has a bail and bond hearing Friday at 1 p.m. in the Vernon County courthouse.
