Police cars in La Crosse are getting a makeover. The department says squad cars will roll out in the next couple of weeks with a different look. The cars will have a black and white paint scheme and large block lettering.
Officers say they hope the new look will increase visibility around town. They say they considered several styles, but the chief says when officers at the department voted, the black and white retro look won out.
Chief Ed Kondracki says it's been 28 years since La Crosse cops rolled around town in their black and whites
