Wisconsin's Supreme Court says a Land O' Lakes man serving life in prison for poisoning his wife and drowning her in a toilet will get a new trial.
The court says one of the prosecution's expert witnesses in the Douglas Plude case lied under oath about his credentials.
Genell Plude was found dead in her mother-in-law's home north of Eagle River in 1999. Her head and face were in a toilet bowl.
The 41-year-old Plude was convicted of first degree intentional homicide. A judge sentenced him in 2003.
