Doyle Ahead in Polls
A new poll indicates Democratic Governor Jim Doyle holds double-digit leads against both of his Republican rivals with Election Day still a year away.
Pollsters say Doyle's lead reflects poor name recognition of the Republican challengers this early in the campaign. Mark Green is a congressman and Scott Walker is Milwaukee County executive.
The poll also says close to two-thirds of those surveyed approve of his performance as Wisconsin's chief executive.
The St. Norbert College survey center conducted a telephone survey of 400 randomly selected Wisconsin residents between October 31 and November 11.
