Senator Herb Kohl announced that he has secured $75,000 for the West Central Drug Task Force.
The task force includes 14 law enforcement agencies in western Wisconsin that will use the money to fight methamphetamine related crime and increase public awareness of the dangers of the highly addictive drug.
The number of meth cases in Eau Claire County has skyrocketed over the past few years.
Kohl says stopping meth use is the number one crime fighting priority in many rural communities and this money will help combat the production and spread of the drug.
