Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says it is fortunate that no one has died in flooding that hit Wisconsin this week.
Obama made his comments Thursday in the northeastern Wisconsin city of Kaukauna at a town hall meeting. He arrived in a downpour that threatened to lead to more flooding across the state.
Obama says his heart goes out to relatives of those killed Wednesday in tornadoes in other states.
He also praised Gov. Jim Doyle for working closely with federal officials to respond to flooding in Wisconsin. Teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency were in the state Thursday assessing damage.
