$1 million Powerball winner steps forward in Wisconsin
Wisconsin lottery officials say Christy Stanczak validated her winning ticket Tuesday. After taxes, she'll receive a lump sum of $672,500.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) -- The West Allis woman who won $1 million in a Powerball drawing over the weekend has stepped forward to claim her prize.
Wisconsin lottery officials say Christy Stanczak validated her winning ticket Tuesday. After taxes, she'll receive a lump sum of $672,500.
The 26-year-old says she never plays Powerball, but she'd been on a lucky streak lately so she figured, why not.
Stanczak bought a $10 quick-pick ticket at a grocery store in Brookfield. One set of numbers matched all five Powerball numbers in Saturday's drawing.
If she had also matched the Powerball number she would have shared in a jackpot worth $336.4 million. Instead, that jackpot will go to the nation's sole winner, someone who bought the winning ticket in Rhode Island.
