The Freedom From Religion Foundation told Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch in a letter it believes the practice is unconstitutional.
The Madison-based group reviewed video of 16 prayers and sermons led by representatives in the past year and found all but one were explicitly Christian.
The group says the practice violates the separation of church and state because it goes beyond what the U.S. Supreme Court has allowed.
A spokesman for Huebsch says he is reviewing the request.
