Crandon Vigil to Honor Victims
Vigil Friday night in Crandon, on eave of destruction for home where 6 died

A vigil is planned for Friday night on the eave of destruction for the Crandon home where six young people died last fall.
The home was the scene of a rampage when an angry and jealous off-duty sheriff's deputy opened fire, killing a former girlfriend and five others. Another person was wounded but survived. The deputy later killed himself.
A committee raised money, bought the house and plans to replace it with a memorial after it's torn down this Saturday. The remains of the structure are to be dumped at an undisclosed, out-of-state landfill.
Church pastor Bill Farr heads the committee and says the house has to go. He says it's only a symbol of tragedy.
