There's money out there, but an IRS report shows almost a quarter of the eligible people here in Wisconsin haven't filed for an economic stimulus rebate yet. That number applies to those who do not file income taxes, but are still eligable for a rebate

The report says more than 77,000 people in the state haven't applied for their checks. The majority are age 65 or older.

Senator Herb Kohl says a lot of people who don't usually file tax returns, do qualify for the rebate payment. But Kohl says, they have to fill out the proper paperwork. The Senator says he wants the IRS and Social Security Administration to up their outreach efforts to older Americans.

If you haven't filed, you still have time; the deadline is October 15.

For more information you can call Senator Kohl's office at 1-800-247-5645. You can also call the IRS at 1-866-234-2942.
