SeniorCare Enrollment Surges

Wisconsin SeniorCare enrollment is up in recent months.
Officials at the Department of Health and Family Services say they're receiving more than 175 new applications each day. That's a 150 percent increase from last year.
The program's renewal was uncertain a couple months ago until Governor Doyle negotiated a deal with the federal government.
It allows seniors to choose between SeniorCare and Medicare Part D, at least until June 2007.
SeniorCare is a prescription drug benefit that's based upon a person's annual income.
Around 90,000 seniors are currently enrolled in the program.
