In Madison, Republicans worked past midnight to scale back a bill that would let Wisconsin residents secretly carry weapons. The Assembly then passed the bill this morning.
They're hoping the changes will get Democrat support to override the governor's all but certain veto.
The changes make it illegal for anyone with a blood alcohol content of 0.02 or greater to carry a weapon.
They also make weapons illegal around schools by another 100 feet and require permit-holders to take firearms training every five years.
