Firefighters think a wood stove in the basement of a home caused a fire and the resulting smoke and heat damage Sunday night.
It happened just before eight at a house on Silver Mine Drive southwest of Eau Claire.
Firefighters found that the smoke and flames had made their way all the way up to the roof by the time they got there.
Everyone who had been inside the house had gotten out when rescue crews arrived and nobody was hurt.
