Tomah Death Ruled Suicide Following Friday Police Shooting

Autopsy results show that a Tomah man found dead after a shootout with police killed himself.

Monroe County Medical Examiner Toni Eddy says 20-year-old Chandler Jacob Green died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head during the incident at a Tomah apartment last Friday night.

Eddy ruled the death a suicide. The autopsy also showed Green was wounded in the pelvis during the exchange with police ... but Eddy says that wound was not fatal.

Toxicology results are pending.

The incident happened when an officer was called to investigate an underage drinking and disturbance report, and Green shot a handgun at the officer, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.
