Christians Attend Christmas Day Mass

Christmas mass was held Sunday morning in the Chippewa Valley and around the world.

December 25th is an important day on the calendar for Christians because the birth of christ signifies G-d becoming man for their salvation.

This year's onset of natural disasters and the war in Iraq changed the focus of this year's mass at St. James the Greater in Eau Claire.

"I really believe that for those who are struggling with one of life's issues, that the whole feast of Christmas can mean a lot more," Father John Schultz said.

Christmas Day services are attended by many, but Father Schultz added that the turnout tends to be best during afternoon services on Christmas Eve.
