D.O.T. Warning: Beware of Black Ice

By  |

The new year rolled in with above normal temperatures for January.
But, black ice can be found on western Wisconsin roads.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials are reminding drivers to watch for spots on pavement that appear slightly darker than surrounding areas.
The very thin layer of ice known as black ice often forms when temperatures are at or above 32 degrees.
If you run into areas like this, slow down and avoid using your cruise control.
