Wisconsin's tax deadbeats will get new exposure on a Web site in effect as of January 1st.
The state Department of Revenue is launching its "Web site of shame," listing individuals and businesses owing the state at least $25,000 dollars in unpaid sales, income, excise or corporate franchise taxes.
The total amount owed is around 600 million dollars.
Revenue officials sent letters out to the delinquent taxpayers in November, and about 120 people have signed up for payment plans since then.
But that's only the tip of the iceberg ... because the Web site will be listing nearly 7,000 taxpayers on the site. It also will be highlighting a "Top 100" list of those who owe the most.
