A man accused of killing his wife at their Neillsville home two years ago may soon be returning from Illinois to face a murder charge.
Police say 30-year-old Vickie Peterson was stabbed to death late on the night of New Year’s Eve in 2003 or early the next day, when her body was found.
Her two-month-old son was found uninjured in the home.
Meanwhile, her husband Daniel Peterson was arrested the same day in Illinois after he tried to rob a bank, threatened two police officers with a knife and was shot by one of them.
The 34-year-old Peterson was sentenced to an eight-year prison term in Illinois. But, he still faces a first degree intentional homicide charge in Clark County.
