Marshfield High School Students May Be Paying To Park

Tight budgeting might mean a new fee for students who drive to Marshfield High School.

The school board is considering a proposal to charge a parking fee of $15.00 a semester for use of the school lot.

Principal John Blankush says the money would go to maintain the parking lot, including plowing it in winter and sealing it in summer.

It's just one more example of the way public school districts are scrambling for new alternatives to cover costs.

A decision is to be made by the board next Wednesday. If approved, the fee would go in effect in the fall.
