It's been almost three months since the Chippewa Falls marching band crashed into an overturned semi on Interstate 94, killing five people.
A fund that has been set up by alumni in honor of Doug Greenhalgh, his wife Terese and their granddaughter Morgan is approaching a monetary milestone.
As of January 9th, 2006, the Greenhalgh Memorial Music Endowment fund has raised more than $47,000, with donations coming from all around the nation.
"The message that i see so often is coming from people saying 'we know the bond there is among band members and their band director. We know what that means and we know a band is a family,' " says Carol Gienapp.
The endowment supports the Chi-Hi band program.
