Benefit for Eau Claire Boy

3-year old Joshua Schwichtenberg was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he and his mother have stayed ever since.
Joshua has undergone 6-rounds of chemo-therapy and has 2-more to go. He was born with Down Syndrome and doctors said that his immune system would always be compromised, meaning it would be tougher for his system to fight off infections.
"But now that he's had chemo-therapy, his immune system is completely wiped out and his bone marrow is essentially killed eight times through the chemo. So we need to make some changes to the house to make it safer for him," said Lori Schwichtenberg, Joshua's mother.
A benefit to help Joshua's family remodel their home and to help in Joshua's fight with leukemia is scheduled for February 12th at Bethseda Lutheran Church.
