Wisconsin Hit Hard with Bankruptcies
Bankruptcy filings were up 42 percent in Wisconsin last year, making the state one of the hardest hit in the country.
In the Midwest, filings were up 43 percent. That’s the biggest increase in any region.
Many filings came in the three months before mid-October when a change in the federal bankruptcy law made it more difficult to write off all debts.
