Utility Spokeswoman Irissol Arce says wind and lightning have left power lines down, but no injuries have been reported. She says crews are working to restore power. The outages began around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Arce says the residents affected are scattered throughout the southern part of the state.
That includes about 5,000 people in western Wisconsin, about 4,700 customers in the central region and 3,700 in the Milwaukee area.
