On July 1st, a new resource center for Eau Claire County opened called the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County. The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County (ADRC), formerly the Department on Aging & Resource Center, is located in Room 1550 of the Eau Claire County Courthouse at
721 Oxford Avenue in Eau Claire.

The ADRC of Eau Claire County will offer the general public a single entry point for information and assistance on issues affecting adults age 60 and older and adults living with disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, regardless of income. In addition, it will serve as a resource and provide assistance to their families and
caregivers.

The purpose of the ADRC of Eau Claire County is to be a welcoming, convenient place for Eau Claire County residents and family members to get information and access to a wide variety of services, which can be obtained via the telephone, at the ADRC of Eau Claire County office or in the home.

The types of services the ADRC of Eau Claire County has to offer include information and assistance, long-term care options counseling, benefits counseling, prevention and early intervention programs, transition services and access to publicly funded long-term care programs such as Community Family Care, Community Health Partnership and the Self-Directed Supports Waiver.

"Navigating the array of long-term care services available can be confusing and frustrating," said Dorothy Moen, ADRC Director. "This resource center will be a tremendous help to families searching for long-term care options for older adults and loved ones who are disabled."
