A new recordable interview room in Chippewa County has investigators and prosecutors hoping to protect victims of sexual assault from being re-victimized.
The room will primarily be for children 16 and under and will have the ability to record the victim's interview.
The tape from that interview can then be played for others as well as in court, instead of the victim having to re-tell what happened.
The room just needs the high tech recording equipment, which will happen thanks to a $10,000 dollar grant from the Department of Justice.
The Chippewa County Sheriff expects the room to be ready within the next month.
