Unbelievable...Summerfest officials received a "handful of complaints." More than 500 people played the game on Summerfest's opening day. My question is, why did Peace Action Wisconsin get their way?
While I might question someone under 16 going through the simulation if it was that violent...it's not up to me and it SHOULDN'T be up to anyone other than the individual's parents! What happened to parents making the decisions for their children and not some policital action group! Perhaps, after going through the simulation, teens will see how violent war (or conflicts if the case may be) can be and learn how to prevent them in the future. Did PAW think of that?? Either way, it's an individual's choice (or that of the parent) to partake and if someone found the simulation offensive, they should simply not involve themselves.
Why does the voice of a few ridiculous minority get priority? My daughter is in the Army and I take offense to the group Peace Action Wisconsin.
when did this country change to let minorities run our country
I agree with you, Scott. Parents should be determine what's proper for their children and be held responsible for their actions as a result. If you don't like it or desire it for your children, don't partake. "...freedom for anything unless they disagree with it." Kind of brings that discriminatory Marriage Amendment to mind once again...
Another example of a group who wants freedom for anything unless they disagree with it. Did anyone ask the direct question: "Do you feel that the parents are incapable of determining if their children should see or partake in this?" to these people? It is a yes or no question.
I disagree with Peace Action Wisconsin. There is not a thing wrong with letting young people see what it is like to be a soldier. Nothing is more honorable.
