Eau Claire police officers say they arrested three teenagers in a string of unsolved burglaries. Investigators say more people could also be charged in the case.
Lt. Tim Golden says officers arrested 18-year-old Garret German and 18-year-old Cody Link, both of Chippewa Falls, early Friday morning. Golden says they were caught trying to burglarize the Sea Horse Inn on Eau Claire's west side around 3 a.m.
Golden says after interviewing the two, officer also arrested 19-year-old William Kasputis of Eau Claire.
Some of the places broken into include Hobbs Ice Center, Gemini Drive-In, an assisted living home that was under construction on Eau Claire's west side, Wild Ridge Golf Course, and Assembly of God Church on Kane Road in Eau Claire.
Golden says the case will be forwarded to the district attorney's office as soon as the investigation is complete. He says more names keep coming up and more arrests are likely. No charges have been filed against the teenagers yet.
Golden says it's very comforting for people in Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties to know that the burglars are caught. He says investigators always like to bring that closure to people.
