Altoona is the newest member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. They join Eau Claire, Menomonie, Chippewa Falls and the Town of Union.
To join, a city has to give a percentage of it's room tax, collected from hotels that the city or town has. In return, the city gets to be a part of a million dollar budget to better promote their tourism opportunities.
The tourism board is looking to add the Town of Wheaton next.
