A central Wisconsin farmer says he's invented a device that collects and redirects stray ground currents on a dairy farm.

A central Wisconsin farmer says he's invented a solution for stray voltage.
Scott Ertl of the Town of Marshfield says he's developed a device that collects and redirects stray ground currents on a dairy farm.
Ertl struggled with stray voltage on his farm for years and began developing the product about 18 months ago. He sold about 150 units last year and 60 so far this year.
He says dairy farms with 30 to 100 cows typically need one to four units, which range from $50 to $700, depending on the guarantee.
Ertl's calls his device the ‘Ertlizer.’ A patent is pending.
