Vikings owner Zygi Wilf hopes his idea for a $675 million retractable-roof stadium gets some traction. Wilf was in Blaine, Minnesota last night to promote the stadium he wants to build there. Blaine leaders got a sneak preview of the plans and are in favor of it. But, state lawmakers aren’t so sure.
It's dubbed the Northern Lights at Blaine and could cost a billion dollars.
The cornerstone is a $675 million dollar football stadium. Team Vice President Lester Bagley says the surrounding development would include retail shops, corporate offices, residential space and a medical facility.
Wilf has committed $280 million to the stadium and wants public money for the rest.
