Wisconsin therapist accused of kicking autistic boy during session

WATERFORD, Wis. (AP) -- A therapist in suburban Milwaukee is accused of physically abusing a 3-year-old autistic boy during a home therapy session.

A Journal Times of Racine report says 27-year-old Stephen T. Jacobs of Wauwatosa is charged with felony child abuse.

Jacobs was reading to the boy during a Dec. 14 session in the Town of Waterford. Prosecutors say the boy started crying, and Jacobs head-butted, kicked and elbowed the boy.

The criminal complaint says the parents weren't allowed to sit it on the sessions, so the mother set up a camera to record them. The complaint says the video shows the boy crying, and then Jacobs shaking him, head-butting him and kicking his head.

A court commissioner on Monday set a signature bond of $2,500.

A call seeking comment from his public defender rang unanswered Wednesday.
