Here's an update to our breaking news from Tuesday night. The man who was hurt in a shed explosion in Augusta is home from the hospital.

Augusta Fire Chief Ken Zich says the explosion destroyed the building and an old pickup inside. He says the owner was about 10 yards behind the shed went it blew up. He says the blast took out the windows and the doors.

It happened before 8 p.m. Tuesday on East Perkins Street. Zich says when crews got there, flames were shooting out of the shed

TUESDAY'S STORY:

The Augusta fire chief says a call came in a little before 8 p.m. Tuesday night of an explosion.

Chief Ken Zich says when crews got to the scene at 206 East Perkins Street, flames were shooting out of all sides of a storage shed.

Zich says no one was inside, but Chief Zich says the owner was about 15 feet from the shed when it exploded. He says the man had knee surgery recently and wasn't able to get to his crutches to get further from the flames. An ambulance took that man to an Eau Claire hospital.

Chief Zich wasn't sure how bad he was hurt. A family member told us his injuries were not life-threatening.

Fire investigators will talk to him to try and figure out what caused the explosion.
