While the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport will host a Presidential Candidate, it will soon also roll out the red carpet for the rest of us.

Today Senator Herb Kohl announced the Senate Appropriations Committee approved adding $1 million for the airport in Eau Claire as part of a transportation bill.

The money would be used to enhance baggage screening and upgrade the terminal.

A new passenger boarding bridge will also be added for your safety.

The bill still needs to be approved by the House and Senate, and signed by the President.

We have an airport? Hmm...I thought it was just an overpriced, under utilized shuttle service. I love Herb Kohl, but you need passengers...and even airplanes...inorder to need screening equipment.
