Crews work to clear snow piles in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) The City of Eau Claire is asking drivers to give road crews plenty of space as they work to clean up snow piles.

With the record amount of snow the city saw this winter, crews say they need to clear the build-ups along intersections and turn-islands to maintain visibility on the roads.

Snow is also being removed along city streets to allow room for any additional snow that might be coming our way.

"This winter there is enough snow there, that we are removing snow every day, right now we're trying to keep the steets as wide as possible," says City Maintenance Manager Steve Thompson.

Crews have been picking up the snow mounds since mid-January, and say it will take another couple of weeks before the work is finished.
