More than 300 people were expected to join the fifth annual shamrock shuffle a fun-run walk of a little over three miles.
300 people registered before the event but still many more people walked in and registered for it.
A team consisting of six or more people paid $17 to join while individuals got to pay between $12 and $15
All the money will go to a great cause for Eau Claire and Altoona teenagers in the area through the National Youth Sports Program or NYSP.
“Since the program has been cut federally, they're just focusing on sports this summer. So we're trying to raise money to make sure they can keep doing that program,” said Courtney Doyel, a student coordinator.
NYSP is a summer camp for kids between ages 10 and 16. People participating also got a free t-shirt.
