Three people are in critical condition after a semi tractor trailer and a school bus crashed in central Wisconsin. The bus was letting off students at the time.
A school bus with students from nearby Plainfield, about 25 miles South of Stevens Point was stopped on a road when a tractor-trailer rear-ended the bus at the intersection of Highway 73 and county Hwy F in Northeast Adams County.
The driver of the tractor-trailer and six students suffered major injuries. Three of them were flown by helicopter for treatment and are in critical condition. The others were taken by ambulances to local hospitals.
Plainfield is a rather small school district -- known as the Tri-County area. The bus involved was carrying children from kindergarden age through high school.
