A 28-year-old Mondovi man is being held in Eau Claire County Jail in connection with an early morning stabbing.
Eau Claire police were called to a Water Street bar just after bar close Friday morning about a fight. When they arrived they found a 25-year-old Chippewa Falls man with stab wounds to his back, shoulder and groin area.
"We actually ended up transporting two people to the hospital. The victim had multiple stab wounds, I believe four or five of them," says Sgt. Steve Page. "The other gentleman involved had some cuts to his hands that had to be treated at the hospital also."
Sgt. Page says there has been no update on the victim's condition, but investigators were able to speak with him at the hospital and his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The 28-year-old was transported from the hospital to Eau Claire County Jail.
There's no word on what caused the fight, but alcohol is believed to be a factor.
