A federal report says Wisconsin's legal climate for businesses has gone downhill faster than that of any other state.
The report by the US Chamber of Commerce says that numerous court rulings in the state have expanded the liability that companies face.
The report -- scheduled to be released tomorrow -- is from the chamber's Institute for Legal Reform, which lobbies to limit lawsuits against companies.
The organization's president, Tom Donohue, says anti-business rulings by the state Supreme Court and bills vetoed by Governor Doyle will help trial lawyers and hurt businesses.
A governor spokesman says Doyle has taken a balanced and reasonable approach on business liability issues. He says the report seems more about politics than about facts.
