Onalaska Soldier Killed in Afghanistan Combat Action
The military says Army Lt. Nick A. Dewhirst of Onalaska was killed Sunday when his convoy came under attack in the Qalandar District of the Khost Province.

The U.S. Defense Department says a 25-year-old Wisconsin soldier has been killed in Afghanistan.
The military says Army Lt. Nick A. Dewhirst of Onalaska was killed Sunday when his convoy came under attack in the Qalandar District of the Khost Province.
Dewhirst was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
He is the seventh Wisconsin resident killed as a result of military service in Afghanistan since 2001.
