Eau Claire police say a convicted sex offender will be moving back to Eau Claire.

Police say Walter Mallett, 32, will be released Tuesday and will live at 1414 1/2 Menomonie Street.

Mallett lived in Eau Claire two years after serving time for third degree sexual assault of a minor female.

He violated probation and was again in prison for nearly 18 months. Mallett will be on supervision through the department of corrections until next July.
